I’m told that 63% of you use the Internet to get information about local businesses. When you are trying to decide where to go to see a movie, to get a bite to eat, or to buy that tool you need, you use a search engine like Google or Yahoo. Unfortunately for you, my friends, there is a bit of a disconnect.

  • Only 44% of you have a website.
  • About half of you spend less than 10% of your marketing budget online.
  • More than half of you who do have websites are unhappy with your site.

Who are you? You are a small-business owner in the U.S., the most technologically advanced country in the world. Wow.

We know it’s overwhelming. There is a lot to learn when it comes to Internet marketing. These statistics show that you are not alone in your feelings of frustration when trying to figure out the Web. Guess what? It’s okay to feel that way, and it’s totally normal.

You are an expert in what you do. Whether it’s real estate, garage door repair, or some other business, you help other people make their lives a little bit easier with your expertise. Find someone who can help you make the Internet easier. There are lots of resources that show how important Internet advertising really is to small businesses.

By the way (and here comes the shameless plug) did I mention that NetBiz’s mission statement is “Making the Internet Easy”?
